His message was followed up by another message from the actual NBA subreddit basically saying the same exact thing the mod said to never personally message a mod. The NBA is the most popular league in the world. He sent me an angry message and said if I ever private message him again, that he would not only ban me from the subreddit but will get me suspended from Reddit overall. It gets worse!! I message the mod who did it and respectfully asked him if he could speak to whoever has the power to unban me. They claimed that I kept going off-topic and I was insulting people for claiming they don’t watch the NBA. I made sure to message them for a reason of the ban. I was in absolute shock! I thought it was an outlier situation….until a week later I was banned from the NBA subreddit for telling a guy “there’s no way you watch the NBA consistently” after he claimed that Sengun was 100% better than Sabonis. Over 6,000 subreddits in total are also going dark. I responded with “Light the Beam” and got permanently banned from their subreddit. NBA Reddit is just one of many subreddits contributing to this blackout. I was in the Jazz subreddit page and someone wrote “I FKN HATE THE KINGS, THOSE WHINEY LITTLE ****”.

Not only that, but the mods have way too much power. Downvotes that bury your post really make debate impossible.your post essentially only got elevated if you pander to a fanbase.ġ00% accurate. The message board system really works a lot better.
